About GreenRah

GreenRah is a thermal-aware walking guide. Instead of just showing the fastest route, it helps you plan cooler and more comfortable ways to get around on foot, using weather conditions, sun position, 3d modeled building and tree shade, and map data.

Heat Smart favors shaded, lower heat-stress paths when the street network allows it, useful on a hot afternoon when the direct route runs straight through open sun. Accessible favors gentler grades and avoids stairs where possible, for anyone who needs a step-free or lower-effort path. Along the way, GreenRah can also surface practical layers like drinking water points and public toilets, and let you save places you return to often as Favorites.

Cities are getting hotter, and heat is a growing everyday risk for pedestrians, older residents, people with health conditions, tourists unfamiliar with local climate, and anyone without step-free mobility. Most map apps optimize for speed and distance and ignore comfort, shade, and accessibility entirely. GreenRah exists to make urban heat and accessibility visible at the moment it actually matters: when you're deciding which street to walk down. It's part of a broader push toward climate adaptation in cities, practical tools that help people cope with a changing climate today, not just long-term infrastructure projects.

We're launching first in Lisbon, Portugal, then expanding to other cities across Portugal, and from there to the wider European Union, where the combination of heat exposure and walkable historic city centers makes shade- and accessibility-aware routing especially useful. Because GreenRah is a web application, anyone anywhere in the world can already open it in a browser, coverage quality (shade and accessibility detail) will simply be strongest in the cities we've mapped first, and will keep expanding.

We do not sell your personal data to advertisers or data brokers. Location is only used with your permission, and only for the purpose you'd expect, plotting your route. We follow the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as our baseline standard everywhere in the world we operate, not just for EU users. GreenRah is operated by GreenRah OÜ, a private limited company (osaühing) registered in Estonia. We're an early-stage, founder-led team building GreenRah from the ground up, currently focused on our Lisbon launch ahead of expansion to more cities.
